look up Vstella or MattG both have great advice on this, and I think Vstella's site offers pics. I cannot imagine DIY .... just never mechanically inclined.

mike m. nice job!! thanks a boat load. i viewed corvette fever article, that shows doing rear also. do you think that the torque convt. can be removed and still leave tranie up and in but justed dropped a little?

not hardly; the TC is in front of the tranny. To get to the TC, you'll have to remove the tranny )and TC housing) from the torque tube.
I've heard of some doing this while still leaving the torque tube bolted to the engine. Actually, once you'tre that far torn apart - the TT is just a few bolts away from removing it from the engine and moving the entire assembly from the car and making it a whole lot easier to work on.
Either way, the rear cradle will have to be removed.
