Default Headers worth installing on my supercharged car!

I have a 99 coupe running 6psi with a vortech.(carroll supercharing system)
I'm going to be going to 7psi with the gaseous intercooling system.
Is it worth the $2000 to put headers with the high flow cats on?
Any comments let me have them!
If so which headers- FLP's, Tpis, LG, grizzleys, stainless works.
So many to chosse from. I could probably get the best deal with install
from chuck at FLP.
Back to the question is it worth the dough!
:smash:

JIMMY,

Do BEARS sh it in the woods?
Of course HEADERS our going to help you probably pick up at least between 20 to 30 rwhp. The supercharger is pumping much more air through your stock motor vs no supercharger and the stock exhaust is choking you. Headers usually gain 20rwhp on stock LS1 and you should pick up more on a blown application!

What does GEOFF at PTC tell you about this? Ask the other tuners here in CHICAGO like PTC, Dan at FLP, CHRIS or JOHN at POwerhouse, JOhnny's guy at HP. Call the experts and get their opinions and from what i see TPIS headers for the price (only about $900.00) would be tuff to beat on a stock cubed F/I LS1 motor like your running. Another GREAT OPTION would be the stainless works headers (very similar in design to TPIS) with their new 3 inch random cats high flow converters, etc. MATT G can set you up on a great deal on those!:D I am running the stainles werks headers on my Z06 and they're great. MY Z07 is running TPIS which are now more than 2 years old.

GOOD LUCK!

Just be aware to get the increased HP/TQ you have to get it tuned. I used to have the ATI 7lbs kit w/ stock exhaust it made 475rwhp, adding the FLP w/ high flow cats w/o tune resulted in a lost of 10 rwhp to 465rwhp. The car ran pig rich after the FLP. So add another $400-500 on top of your headers cost.

My Carroll supercharged '97 running 6 psi of boost was at 401 RWHP before headers and with Carrolls "horrible" tune. After a set of TPIS longtubes and a tune by Chris at ECS, the car made roughly 420 RWHP. I say roughly because it was 78 degrees when it dyno'd 401 and it was over 100 degrees when it dyno'd 420. So I would say you can easily gain 25 RWHP with a good tune and longtubes on a supercharged LS1. Definitely worth it.

I was considering the Flp system chuck told me an outstanding price installed.
I was just concerned about there quality. I know that had some production
problems but I think there all good know. I seen so many people ripping
on FLP saying finish last performance.
What do you guys think.
I think my next mod will be the water injection intercooling set up that
Greg carroll has. I going to run 7 or so psi with the intercooling.
Cooler air and more boost equally more power.
The system is like 1,000 so will install might have to wait on the headers.
Want to see what the C6 looks like anyway.

If money is a consideration I would look for a set of TPIS, or Stainless Works used.

I picked up a set of TPIS in great shape for $500, put them on myself, brought the car to a local muffler shop w/ the cats removed and they welded straight pipes to my H pipe. Cost me a total of $575, plus about 4 hours of my time installing them.

If you have already had your car dyno tuned, the shop should only charge you for dyno time to re-tune it. Most of the work is done, they just need to tweak it.
