I ran at an autocross event today. I knew my car was a bit loud and I found out today how loud it was. 98 DB. I got the big BLACK FLAG and the DNF. I wasn't even at full RPM either :cry
I love the sound of my car, but now for autocross events I will have to switch mufflers or do something. Any ideas????
I have the LG motorsports headers, radom free flow cats, corsa X-pipe, and GHL exhaust oh and a Vortech T-trim smashing the air into the car :smash:
Have you thought about switching back to the Z06 Ti mufflers? With the LG headers, it'll still sound good, probably just quieter.
I've got some sound clip/videos lying around of a fellow on this forum with LG headers, no cats, and the stock Z06 Ti exhaust. Sounds great, and not loud at all. Fella's handle is "AlexWS6", if I recall correctly.
Send a note to JCL here on the Forum (www.spiralturbobaffles.com). He's been making exhaust baffles for GT-1 race cars that have sound restrictions, and has been doing great. Paul Newman's car is running with them as are several other top cars. Lots of C3 owners have them in their side pipes, and I just posted yesterday about installing them on my '99. Low restriction with reserved sound. Check out the web site to see what they're about and give JCL a call or e-mail to discuss.
