Default Which LT Headers are better?

I'm stock with intake upgrades and free flowing exhuast. I daily drive the vette and future looking to add SC Vortech.
Which LT header is better?
TPIS, LG, Stainless LT or FLP?
Thanx for input.

I would say Stainless Works is your best choice. 304 Stainless Steel construction, perfect fit and build quality, lifetime warranty, excellent power gains and the most affordable price.

Feel free to email me if you are interested in exact pricing or if you have any questions pertaining to the stainless works headers.

I really like my Stainless Works headers. You do need to cut and weld to install.

LGM hands down. Only set up with "merge" collectors.Increases torque at lower RPMs. FWIW.

Correct me if I am wrong, but don't the LGs that are produced by Borla only come with a standard collector? I am pretty sure it was only their early models that came with the merge collector option.

Either way, they are also a good header choice.

 I just ordered a set and was informed that they are a 'bolt-on'. I understand it is a fair job installing, but when you say cut and weld, did you purchase the weld-on model from SW?

I thought the new Kooks have a merge collector?

The SW's do not require welding if you buy the mid pipe with x and cats? But do require welding if you use factory cats?

Kooks and FLPs are the only LTs that are flanged and do not have a slip fit to their mid pipes. Also the Kooks are stainless.

The Stainless Works headers only require welding if you want to retain your factory Hpipe and Cats by using the supplied slip-fit flanges that you weld in front of your stock cats.

If you purchase the SW center section Xpipe with or without cats, it allows your whole install to just be a bolt-on.

Hey Matt.... I saw your pricing on the headers, but what about that center section? How much do those run with and without the cats? thanks.

Kooks by far.

They are stainless and you can get the matching x-pipe for them. Kooks themselves picked up 37 rwhp on a z06.

Not bad for just a header swap. Keep in mind, the car had cats on it too.

Hi Guys,

First, there is NO header that will give 37 hp gain on a Z06, that rumor was debunked long ago.

The LG Pro Long Tube headers DO come with Merge Collectors. The difference is that the Pro Long Tubes have a machine made Merge collector rather than a hand made collector. Which contributes to the lower pricing.

The pricing is $1595 complete 304 Stainless steel system from the Engine all the way back to the mufflers, and require NO welding. Our headers also offer the advantage of being a full 3" system, including the 3" Xpipe plus the 3" mid pipes. They are a complete bolt up. Our competitors systems use 2.5" tubing for their system. Plus in our full system with cats, we use the new Random Metal Matrix cats which are also 3".

When you compare the pricing of every other header with comparable attachments, to out LG complete the system all the way to the mufflers, the Price of the LG Pro Long Tubes is almost exactly in line with the other headers as a complete kit, and in fact we are lower prices than some. And the other systems with cats use a 2.5" cat, and small x pipes etc.

There is no better performing and no better value in the header market. Compare the features of our LG pro Long Tubes to the the others.

LG= 304 Stainless steel ; Stainless Works=304 stainless; All of the others= mild steel which will rust.

LG=Merge collectors; All of the others = plain collectors

LG= 32" long primary tubes( the only true Long tube headers; All the others are 18" to 26" ( mid length)

LG=full 3" system with 3" X pipe and if cats, then 3" metal matrix cats.

Stainless Works= optional 3" system which raises the price to more than LG

No other system has a 3" system.

The photo below shows exactly what you get with the LG Pro Long Tube headers. There is no add on parts, unless you want cats. This is a power proven system. We just put out 2 cam and head packages ( see thread in this section) that put out 461/421 hp/tq and 454rwhp using these headers.

Apples to Apples, system to system, there is no better system made. and none of the other systems make as much Low End Torque as the LG Pro Long Tubes.

Hope this clears up any confusion about our headers.

Thanks

Lou G

One thing holding me back from the LG headers, is I really like the FLP feature where you can *easily* swap out straight pipes for catalytic converters.

I would like to minimize weight and maximize power when I race competitively, but I would like to be able to pop cats back in there when needed.

Do any of the LG setups allow this?

We can set them up for you with interchangable pipes so you can switch back and forth.

Let us know if you would like a set.

I would love to take a bone stock C5 and put FLPS, LGs, TPIS, SWs, and Kooks on it to see the numbers.

I put TPIS headers in mine since I was on vacation and had a friend install them. If I had the time and was more patient, I would have went with LGM's.

I just believe I would have been happier with them and the folks at LG Motorsports are top notch... :yesnod: as are all our vendors!
