I would like to get pads that have very little brake dust. Are the AC Delco Ceramics the way to go for this? Also, what type of rotors would you recommend? I would like to dress up behind the wheels a little. AC Delco Durastops any good? Is there a different brand out there that is as good or better for about the same price? I don't want to break the bank, but would like to increase my braking power. I don't race, so the high priced pads/rotors are out of the question. Thanks in advance!
BTW, yes, I know my Vette is not a C5. I am putting C5 brakes on the front of my C4. So, since I know next to nothing about the options out there for pads/rotors on the C5's, I figured I would check with the experts. Thanks!
I just put on ceramics pads a couple weeks ago, and the brake dust is gone. Quicker stopping, too. Before you go to the dealer, drop by NAPA. My rotors were $29 each and the front set of ceramic pads were $100. Lots less than GM, and with a lifetime guarantee. If you want to go with performance rotors, there are a lot of aftermarket ones out there. I'll let others talk about those - mine are just stock!
Thanks BSieg! Thanks for your input too. I think I will get the ceramic pads. Ecklers has them for $99 and I need to order some stuff from them anyway. Now to research the rotors. Anyone have any input on rotors? Thanks!
