Finally got my quad rounds on today. All I can say is SWEET !!!!! :hurray:
I got in on the group purchase a few months ago, the package got lost with UPS, and finally recieved them a week ago. Hardest part was getting the old ones off without cutting. These babies will be on my next C5 if I every move up to Z06 or vert. Now I don't even turn on the radio. I want to hear those stingers singing!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Dave,
I was having a hard time getting the two tips lined up to my satisfaction.
Seems the right set of tips want to sit farther in than the left. I spent 1 and 1/2 hrs. working on the alignment by myself, but never got them exactly even. I figured I would try later with my girlfriend holding them into positon while I loosen everything up and tighten back down. I got tired of climbing out from under the car checking the tips. Do you have any "tips" on getting the tips perfectly aligned???
A small reunion, just finished messin with mine& changin the tranny fluid to mobil 1 while I was under there, had the same problem with mine ,you dont have to put the muffler the same amount on both sides onto the over axle pipe,I put inch marks on the ov. axle pipe so I know how far theyre on both sides ,you can use a marker.
The Borla's are indeed SWEEEEEEEEEET! Try hooking them up with the Vortech Ram Air intake, TPIS Long Tube Headers and a pair of matching 3 inch (diameter) Random Tech Cats. :yesnod: :yesnod: Believe you me, you aint heard nothing till you get that setup.............. and I swear, my car seems like its TURBOCHARGED now :seeya :seeya
i'm getting ready to do mine in the next few weeks. did you have any problems getting the back end high enough to remove the stock exhaust? :)
I'm guessing that I had the back end at least 2 1/2 foot in the air. My jack ran out of lift, so I put it on stands, then added a 4x4 and a 2x4 to the jack cradle and it was just high enough to swing the exhaust out without cutting. I didn't raise the front, but drove up on a small 2x6 to give some room in front when I raised the rear way the hell up. The front air dam was on the ground at the rears highest point. Just make sure you unhook the rear sway bar and swing it out of the way. The right side was much harder to remove than the left side. I have an auto. and I heard that with the 6 sp. there is more room. But it is SO WORTH the effort once you fire these babies up.
GOOD LUCK...

Tim,
I was told by a Borla rep that for in and out adjustment, you can push or pull the pipes. My right side was sticking out a bit more than the left, so I pulled on the left and pushed in the right. The pipes are not very thick (nor do they need to be since they won't rust), so you should be able to bend them slightly. My two sides are better, although not absolutely perfect. If you're a real stickler, just have a muffler shop tweak them for you. They shouldn't charge much, if anything to spend a few minutes doing this.
Just put the stingers on myself and it is a great sound. BUT, did any of you notice a decrease in gas mileage? I have an 03 Z06 and it appears that my gas needle is going to the "E" much faster.
I'm not sure about the gas mileage. Seems that I am shifting at a higher RPM and nailing the throttle at stop lights just to hear them. Gas mileage....Can't worry about that !!!!!!!!!!
