Got in the car this morning and all of the power seat functions will not work.
Checked the fuse and it appears to be fine. Pulled the whole seat out and did an inspection and could not find anything wrong. I am at a loss and figured someone here might have some insight. I really hate to take this to the dealer if you know what I mean. It probably has something to do with my exhaust system or air intake system.
The plug that connects to the seat provides power to the main relay and switch. First thing that I would do is see if that plug has 12 Volts. If it does I can try to talk you through the troubleshooting. Check that plug and get back to me!!
WHAT Year car is it???
I will break out the book and mark the page just incase the power is there!
I rechecked the black harness under the seat and I am getting a voltage reading from the large orange wire in the harness. I didn't get a reading from any of the other wires though. Hope to get this resolved soon! Thanks for your help Bill.
I will get my 02 Service Manual out tonight and give you a couple of things to check! Check the forum around 8 PM. I have to change the oil in my car and put the tires back on! Catch ya later.
The seat controls are really easy to take out and replace. Take your unit off the drivers seat and replace it with the one on the passenger side, or just take it to the passenger side and see if it will operate that seat.
That is the simplest way of determining whether your problem is the switch or the power supply.
I replaced one switch last year; I think it cost less than $20. I hate to go to the dealer for anything. I get my GM parts from Brasington, in Florida. They give a good discount compared to some and they will get you what you need.
Good luck.

Fuse 4 supplies power to the seat thru the orange wire! There is also a circuit breaker that supplies power to the seat motors. It is breaker# 35 (20amp) also on a Light Blue wire. It is located in the I/P fuse block. Make sure that the (BLACK) ground wire is properly attached to ground!
The circuit breaker# 35 supplies POWER to each one of the relays outputs. The outputs go to each motor. The fuse supplies power to coil of each relay. When you press the switch for the seat to move, the relay energizes and moves a contact inside. When the contact moves it connects the circuit breaker power line to the motors. Looks like you have control power but NO motor power.
****The wire is orange at the fuse box and CHANGES to Light blue at the seat connector****
I would say the circuit breaker is TOAST!!
Yoy should have 12 VDC on the light blue wire also!
The other seat is controlled by circuit breaker#36 Try swapping them to see if you can get it to work again.

Does you roof leak at all? Even little drips? Feel the carpet down there.
Water drips directly on the controllers from the top of the A-pillar causing problems sometimes draining battery from the seat to have a mind of it's own. Switch out the other side and see if it works then.

Turns out it was a #4 blown fuse (scm) seat control module. I thought my seat control module was shot but turns out it was just the fuse. What happened to simplicity of a seat. Who would have guessed what SCM meant by looking at the fuse panel. Thanks for everyones input.
