Will a Ls1 edit void the factory warranty..Mine needs some help and it only has 1200 miles on it. Any advice appreciated...I understand that when the pcm is flashed that it should be back to the factory program before taking it in for repairs or warranty work..I would like to know if dyno work would void the warranty
probably. I;m certain that any dealer (wanting to get out of low profit warranty work) could blame LS1-Edit for just about everything that could go wrong.

The real answer, depends on the dealer. I've gone thru this with several cars over the years. I contact the closest dealer, speak with a service writer and ask if he/she has a problem doing warranty work as long as a mod didn't cause the problem. None to date have had a problem and I always stipulate do NOT reprogram the PCM. I also take time to introduce myself to the service tech, shake his hand and thank him for the fine work and his working with me concerning the mods. If more people used this approach, life would be much easier at the dealership/s. My .02
Will they not notice that something is changeded unless it has the factory program put back
correct, but dealers are compelled to load "updated" software by GM even if your car is in for a non-engine related warranty repair (if an upgrade is available for your particular VIN range)
Many programmers (ls1-Edit and the Predator are a few) allow you to load your factory program back in to the PCM. A handy feature one can use just before returning the car to the dealer for warranty repair.
if the dealer contacts GM via their data link; the VIN is sent along with the info request. It's at that point that GM may request the dealer to flash a PCM upgrade.
