Need help mounting Harlan Shift light.
I temporarly mounted it on the base of the steering wheel up near the guages - looks decent and all the wires are out of place. But it is attached with a peice of velcro and I think it looks rather sloppy although functionally it works great and its location is ideal. You cant miss it when it goes off.
However, I really think it looks tacky just sitting there and am interested in another option that I am not sure is feasible.
I know AutoMeter sells guage pods that mount on the A-pillar (at least for F-bodies). Does anyone know if they sell these pods pre-cut (ie - before the center section is drilled out to accomodate a 2 3/4" guage)? I think it would look nice and be practical to cut a pre-cut peice - drill out the center to fit around the Harlan and mount it on the pillar.
Has anyone done this? Does anyone have any other suggestions? I am really interested in hiding it as much as possible.
Thanks
Here are pics of my install and of the two brackets, the one that comes with the Raptor and the one I made for the Harlan. I once showed the bracket I made for the Harlan to the Raptor manufacturer and he asked if I were interested in making one for the Raptor to replace the ones he supplied.
