1999 Corvette with 6 speed manual trans.

Also I have heard that car has to be raised at one end higher than other??
How much and what type goes into 6 speed manual trans?
How Much and what type goes into rear end??
I just want to replace all of these before I put it up for the winter.
Is the above something a non mechanic can do as long as car is up on a lift. :_dupe:
You can do it all your self with ordinary hand tools, a jack and stands or ramps. It's not a big job. 6 1/2 quarts of Mobil-1 motor oil, raise the rear slightly to let all the oil out. Consult the owners manual for the other info and use the recommended type (or equivalent) and amount. Set aside about 2 hours and have fun. Sid.
Engine - 6.5 quarts then run and check, usually takes 7
Tranny - Dextron III ATF, usually takes about 3.5 quarts because you won't get it all out.
Rear - 75W-90. Depending on oil used for rear, you may or may not need the GM additive. With Series 2000 Amsoil, none need. 75W-90 Redline, none needed either. Takes just a hair under 2 quarts.
