Wanted to make a public thanks to East Coast Supercharging and recommend them to anyone looking to have their Vette worked on.
These guys installed a set of headers (TPIS) and rebuilt the stock rear in my dads Z06 w/ 3.90's. I made the trip up there (I mod it - he owns it) from southern MD in early June to have this work done. They did all the work and had me back on the road by 3PM that day. Had a good time hanging around the shop talking cars and seeing the work being done.
Unfortunately the gears started to howl something fierce in the early October after about 1000 miles had elapsed (car is never driven). I wasnt too concerned as this sometimes happens with gear swaps so I gave the guys at ECS a call and they were extremely adament to do whatever it took to make the situation better. They offered to have the differential shipped there and back (all in 1-2 turnaround) for them to repair, or they would send me new gears for me to do myself if I was able or offered to see me any day I could get the car up there.
Due to having a deadline (more of a request then deadline) of the following weekend for having the car fixed (father was taking it out of town), I called them on a Monday and asked if I could bring it up there on that Wednsday morning. It was no problem at all. I worked it to have the day off and made most of the trip Tuesday night and crashed at a friends place - and was at their shop at 9:30 in the AM. I was fully prepared to sit around the shop or outside until the cars completion as the Vette was my only ride but was suprsingly thrown the keys to one the guys own personal vehicles with directions to the Outlet Mall. This was a good thing cause it actually snowed a bit while shopping - it was COLD.
So I got to spend the morning/early afternoon finding some pretty sweet deals at the Outlet Mall until the Vette was ready to go. Only downer was I decided to bring a girl along for the ride so she insisted I made it up to her for enduring the 5 hour car ride up there with the banchi screaming rear end (thanks guys ....... lol).
Needless to say - the car was done exactly when they said it would and the problem was completely taken care of on the house. And they even threw in a quart of Mobil 1 to boot (low oil light came on).
In a business where most products and even fewer installations carry no warranties - these guys stood behind their work 100%. I made the 5 hour drive up there because they were recomended as the best around and they proved it so.
Next major mod on Papa Sig's Vette will be done by the guys at East Coast Supercharging.
Great write-up! It's really nice to see commentary concerning a vendor like this. Gear whine is possible with virtually ANY install, it's what the vendor does to remedy the situation that counts...... and clearly ECS is a group that stands behind their work.
 to ECS, you're earning more business day by day with a glowing endorsement like this.
They said they couldnt find anything wrong - no visable damage to the RnP or anything. I know from past experiences on my SS - that sometimes all it takes is something to get just a hair out of whach and next thing you know - its singing like an opera star. Kinda goes with the territory of gears.
Re: Two Thumbs Up - E.C. Supercharging (robsvette)
LOL - I wish. Would have liked to take out the green bottle fed Camaro as well but I might not have brought it back. Pops woulda been SOL. That car sounds mean.
I actually got to drive the Jeep Wrangler. It was an experience for sure. I would have to say its designed for the offroading activities. I was a little nervous that things were gonna start falling off of it and I wasnt quite up to par with the Flintstone braking method
My car is their as I type - Chris definatly seems like a nice guy, we will see how my car makes out as of friday (I have no worries).
My little sister was nice enough to let me borrow her 87 C4 while mine is in the shop.. If i would have known chris had a rental program i would have taken his vert :)
