On my 2002 vette, while driving at normal speeds there is no problem shifting from 1st to 2nd... When heavy on the gas,I am unable to go from 1st to second,it sticks and shifts into 4th gear.
Is there something i'm doing wrong ? Or juct an adjustment on the linkage?

 Welcome to the forum. Someone will give you a clear answer soon on your problem. :steering: :banghead:
Computer Assisted Gear Selection. Used on 6 speed manuals to help with the CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) numbers by forcing the 1-2 shift to a 1-4 shift at less agressive throttle posistions.
CAGS is easily defeated with a small inline plug available.
Your problem could be CAGS associated, but CAGS is only supposed to work during light acceleration at about 1700 rpm (I think).
:iagree:
Lotsa places have the CAGS eliminator - a testiment to its appeal for people who like to drive their C5, instead of being driven nuts by this inane little sop to the tree huggers!!
I got my CAGS eliminator ( a small plug-in resistor thet "fools" the engine computer into thinking that the CAGS system is functional when in fact it is bypassed :lolg: ) from Mid America Designs for $19.95. You'll love it!
Take a look in your manual and read it. Also read over all the posts you can find on this forum about your car. I'm getting the feeling you don't really know your car and wonder how familiar you are with manual shift vehicles. If you aren't say so, many people here will help you out. The C5 is an amazing automobile and you should learn everything you can about it. Later on you will be glad you did.
Sounds like the (cag's) need to be removed. On my 2002 vette, while driving at normal speeds there is no problem shifting from 1st to 2nd... When heavy on the gas,I am unable to go from 1st to second,it sticks and shifts into 4th gear.

Why would this be CAGS related if he is only experiencing problems when shifting at higher rpms?
