Hello. I'm new the vette scene and I'm going to make my first mod a helms manual. I've never bought one before so I'm curious...The manual I'm wanting is the Corvette Service Manual listed at $120.00 ?? I have a 1999 coupe but I don't see a different book for the coupe is it safe to assume they are one in the same for coupes and verts? Lastly, is there a place I can order this and pay less ?
I got mine on eBay for $90 shipped, but if there aren't any '99 books for sale you might not want to wait, it may be a while.
I think I've read that Fichtner Chevy can get them for a decent price, but I'm not sure about that. Otherwise just do an internet search and go with the best price.
The books cover all of the models made for that year, and once you figure out how to find what you're looking for in the books you won't know how you got by without them.
I would also recommend a copy of the parts CD. Search eBay for "corvette parts cd" and you'll find a few.
Congrats on the new C5. :seeya
edit:
Search ebay for "1999 corvette service manual". There are 4 of them for sale right now, with one being a Buy It Now for $60.
