Hi everybody my name is Zamolo Alessandro and i'm writing from Italy.
I buyed a 98 c5 black on black and it has no modifications only a Superb Brembo brake kit and the mufflers made here in italy.
The car is an automatic transmition and i decided to make some modifications on the engine and specially with the ati kit.
Some c5 owners tell me that the c5 auto transmition will broken with the increase of power but i read on corvette forum that there are a lot of c5 kit with this kit.
Anyway i wrote to the ati telling about my questions and they told me that the kit was made for this machine and it doesn't need modifications on the transmition.
It's for this reason that i ask everybody has some time to tell me about his expirience with this kit????
Thanks for all

Re: Mod on a c5 (azamolo)
Ciao from over here in the states! Come stai?
Your transmission should be just fine... now your for your english:smash: ... you BOUGHT a 98 C5... and the transmision will brake... not broked... but hey, my english teacher said i wasnt smart either :smash: :seeya
Welcome to the Forum! I bet if we tried to post on an Italian Forum our Italian wouldn't be so hot. So, give him a break! I bet seeing a C-5 in Italy is about as rare as a Ferrari in the U.S.
Azamolo, once you get that kit on and tuned you are going to surprise quite a few of the those italian exotics. If you don't have to worry about emissions in Italy, then what you have now is just the beginning!
The ATIi is designed to be used with an otherwise stock C-5. You may want to follow the Forced Induction/Nirous part of the forum & use the search feature just above the word community on the left side bar to look up threads with ATI in the subject or body.
Ok man i know that my english isn't so good as your, i only asked if my automatic transmition will broken (that's ok????) with the increase of power i'll have with the ati kit.
Thanks who understand that my english is not so fine and for the answers.
So do you think that i can mount the kit by myself?
There is an increase of fuel consumption?
There is the possibility to have used kits at best price or what is the best price i can buy this one?
You know that the transport costs are great so i'm searching the best price and also used if there is the possibility
:boxing :steering:
I think you're doing a very fine job communicating in the English language  Keep it up. Here's a few answers, not from personal experience (hope to gain some soon), but from what I've learned here on the Forum.....
1. Transmission will last with the ati kit as designed from ati, but if you start to increase the boost on your new s/c (you will as time goes on), then you can expect things to break.
2. Yes, you can mount the kit yourself. Many here on the Forum have and I don't think any would have done it differently. Just take your time, read the directions, and enjoy. I would recommend you contact Andy of A&A Corvette (a forum vendor) for pricing on his custom kit. The only thing you may have an issue with is the computer tuning, I doubt there are any supporting vendors in Italy to help you. You wil need to send your Vette's computer to someone her for proper tuning.
3. You will certainly use more fuel whenever you mash the pedal and start making boost. But, under normal driving conditions you will probably not see any big difference in gas usage.
4. Used kits are out there, but you sometimes get what you paid for. I think given your circumstances (living in Italy) you better look at a new kit from a quality vendor as you will DEFINITELY have tuning issues that will need to be addressed once you finish installing the s/c.
Hope this helps, I'm sure other members her will correct any info I may be mistaken with.
ohh another problem i have with my corvette is that if i put the automatic selector on 2 the gear box doesn't change to the first.
Also if i kickdown the second gear remains and obviously the aceleration is slower is it a proble,m?
Do you think that if i reset the codes this problem disappear?
Thanks
You will need to load up the hand held program that comes with the ATI kit otherwise the car will not run. You can install the kit yourself if you have good knowledge of cars.
I dont think resetting the codes will make a difference with the transmission. If you leave the shifter in D (drive) does it work correctly? If so, just drive the car in Drive and dont shift the gears manually. :blueangel:
