Hey guys I'm new to this forum but thought that someone may be able to help trouble shoot. About a month ago I bought the LG pro long tube headers & had LG's do the install. Here's my problem. I have gotten a code twice that I have a problem with the driver's side O2 sensor. I've taken it back to Lou once already & he changed out one of the sensors & the problem went away. He said that some times if your crusing around any gear lower than 1500 RPM it's not getting the sensors hot enough & that will set off a code. When they did the install they put O2 sims on because I have no cats. The light came on today @ lunch. Am I going to have this problem all the time now? :cry :nopity
I've heard that you could take the 02 simms out and have the code repoting disabled with LS1Edit. I'm thinking of taking my cats out too. I've got the pipes and bung plugs, but I want to install 02 sensors when I do this because without them the car will run lousey until I get them tuned out, or so I'm told. Can someone at LGM do this for you?
I'm sure Lou can. i'm really pleased with the set up I bought from him, we just have to get this little issue cleared up. LG's pro-long tube is the way to go for sure.
If the sensors are not getting/staying hot enough, one may need to move them closer to the heads. I had this problem with a completely different system, even though the sensors were "heated" ones.
Sometimes new bungs can be welded onto the headers nearer the heads; the problem with this is often one of adequate clearance.
