Hello. New C5 owner. My first Vette, so be kind. I have been an auto enthusiast for years, and I really dislike clip on wheel weights. is there a way to have the tires and wheels balanced without them? Seems the last time I put rubber on aluminum wheels, the shop used come other process. Is that practical or possible on the Corvette? Also here, in Michigan, I will store it for a few months. Is it good to get it up off the tires, and what is the best jack / stands to use.

Re: Wheel weights? (DavePD)
Yes, you can use stick on weights that go on right behind the spokes and also on the inside edge of the wheel. That is how I have my two sets of wheels balanced and they are nice and smooth going down the road. Find a very good shop to do this and you shouldn't have any problems.
Check your area for a tire shop the uses a "road force" machine to balance the wheels. It does a great job when used by a good tech. The inside stick-on weights are fine if applied properly. The tech needs to really clean the inside of the rim before the weights are applied. If not, they fly off the first time to hit the road. Welcome to the Forum and enjoy your ride! :steering:
