CCW 19" five spoke forged wheels
About a week or so ago, I posted a question about CCW's new 19" five spoke forged wheels and got a ton of responses, which I appreciated; I've now seen the wheels and am going to order a set, but I have one additional question. I'm not going to order the Pirellis principally because of the horrible tread wear reviews on Tirerack.com, and I don't particularly like the 30 series aspect ratio, versus 35, because I think it makes the wheel/tire look a little under tire-d and over wheeled (just a matter of personal preference). Michelin offers its rear in a 35 aspect ratio and also offers its front in a 275/30 AND a 275/35 version. TireRack has no specs on the 275/35 model, although that's what I'd like. It has been suggested to me that the 275/35 might physcially fit but the increase in the diameter in the front versus rear might affect the ABS/traction control function.
Frankly, that doesn't make a lot of sense to me. The Pirelli recommended 275/30/305/30 package has 25.7F and 26.3R diameters, for a difference of .6". The recommended PilotSport 275/30/295/35 package has 25.7F and 27.1R diameters, for a difference of 1.4". Even if the Pilot Sport 275/35 increased the front diameter by something close to a full inch, you'd still end up in the Pirelli differential range. I also notice that Michelin makes a PilotSport in 285/30-19 with a 26 diameter and a section width that is only .6 larger than the 275/30s. I'd really like something bigger for the fronts.
Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks.

I am kinda trying to figure out what tire to run as well. I am about to order these wheels.
As far as performance, which tire is better? Pilots or Michelins?

Put on what you like, But this is from another thread I posted in:
The computer sees this excessive rake or angle front to rear and thinks the car has a problem even if the tire monitoring system does not pick up a low pressure. It also can happen when I put my 17" race tire combo on the rear. The computer likes to see the 17"/18" tire difference and will compensate for an approx. 6% height difference........after that it can freak out throwing warnings as you have stated.
I also race and will get them occasinally during "agressive" driving.

Yokohama AVS Sports also come in the same sizes as the Pilot Sports are offered in with the CCW package.
I dont know why no one mention those.

I run a 26.1 in the front and 26.7 in the rear........no issues. I was getting issues when my stock runflats were bald in the back effectively making them 25.2 or so (11/16's tread x2). LS1 edit has a section where you can change the rear tire diameter in relation to the front to fix this.

It is in the speedo gear calibration section for vss sensor. Sets rear tire size only. If you change only the front size to something bigger you simply select a smaller diameter size for the rear for it to get the same ratio difference from the front to the rear.

C5+ZR1- the 285/30 sizes you asked about should work with no problems.
Let me know if you have any other questions, I will try and help! ;)
