I have about 63000 miles on my 99 Vette.I have been toying with the idea of installing a cam and headers. Is this a smart move on a car with this much mileage or should I wait for the c-6's to hit the market and do the mods on a new car? My car isn't driven hard.I like to kick it in the rear on the Freeway, but it isn't raced or abused in any way shape or form. What do you think? :chevy :chevy :flag :chevy :chevy
I say go for it! The C5's motor seems to be very durable. I've read very few posts on the internet about engine problems. Most of those problems were oil pump and rocker arm bearings.
Its not a problem. Just make sure you change the timing chain and the oil pump while in there. It also would be a bad idea to change lifters. Mine where fine until the agreesive cam was installed and then one lifter had problems pumping up at high RPM. I did my H/C setup with 54,000 on the clock and I have 30 passes at the track so far and the car runs great. Do it and have fun.

I don't see why 63K would prevent you from safely upgrading the H/C. 63K on an engine is nothing (provided you are not abusive).
