Default Traction System Active when I do a right turn

I havent used the C5 in a while, sat in the garage for a good 3 weeks. When I used it yesterday and today, the TRACTION SYSTEM ACTIVE message flashes on the DIC everytime I get to the same condition
A. On first gear
B. Turning right
C. Going up a small ramp

It would flash and I hear an audible sound when it's doing it too. Has anybody experienced the this one?

I am no expert but since nobody else has answered, here is my input, mainly from the manual. I have a hairpin turn just below the house and when I take this fast I have felt something kicking in, probably the Traction Control System (TCS) but I have not noticed the light coming on.
The TCS is given priority at low vehicle speeds. The system does an automatic self-check every time the ignition switch is turned to run, and if any malfuction is noted it will set a DIC which should illuminate the ABS/TCS warning light. The manual goes on in some detail about the codes, etc. Because you did not mention any warning light, my guess is that there is nothing major wrong.

The traction control system measures the speed of all four wheels independently and will activate if there is a discrepancy in different wheel speeds that it thinks will cause the car to become unstable. It also measures the pitch and yaw of the car in relation to speed and will activate if it thinks the car is becoming unstable.

I would check the wheel speed sensors first to make sure they are conncected and working right. Then check the pitch and yaw sensor to be sure that it is working right. You should be able to do this with a TechII of Autotap very easily.

I had a very similiar problem that turned out to be a bad wheel sppped sensor.

Sounds like there is something wrong with the EBTCM. That is the unit that monitors the wheel speed and reports to the PCM... I bet that unit needs to be replaced.

VR

Check all the wiring leading to you wheels. In the back they are famous for rubbing on the inner lip of the wheel and in the front they come loose from the retainer and do the same. Also unplug them and look for green corrosion, might just be enough to loose signal ttemporarily.

If it is going through it's self check while you are taking the turn it will also do this, it needs to see the wheel is straight or it can't figure out the center line of the steering wheel input

I had this happen to me when my tires were very bald. If your rear tires are really worn it will cause the rears to turn at a faster rpm than normal. Lower air pressure also effectively lessens the tire diameter. You can check this by putting a lot of air in the rear to increase the diameter....for testing only-- put 44 psi in. I was told that it couldn't be this but changing the tire diameter on the speedo tab in LS1-edit and later getting new tires fixed it for me.

2 ways to correct:
1-New rear tires
2-Use LS1-edit to let the computer know there are different diameter tires on than stock. Go to the speedo tab and you will see it is set to 26.1(ZO6). Other c5's are set to 26.7-26.9 depending on the year. If you are using an aftermaket tire be sure that the tire diameter is correctly set for the ones used. This is often overlooked by those who change to different size tires. It appears that you have gone to 295's in the rear that are starting off brand new at a .8 inches smaller diameter. I have checked different flash files and found that the stock programs for the ZO6 that use those tires have the diameter (ZO6) in the pcm.
