In about 2 months or so I'll be replacing the rubber on my FRC and I want to put bigger rubber than stock on the stock wagonwheels. (buying a new house next year so new rims aren't in the plan for another year or two) I particularly would like a higher sidewall to fill up the wheel wells. My car is a daily driver (90+ a day), I don't burn out or autocross but my wife describes my driving as a lot faster than spirited driving ;) . Presently I am running KDW's in stock sizes. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much, Guy :flag

Re: Big Tires (stogiepuffer)
Biggest you can go on back without being obnoxious or unsafe are 295s (the same size as a stock Z06. You can either stick with kdws or go with the bfg kds, which are the ulitmate dry wether tire whick will give you awesome grip but won't be to good in the rain if your frc is a daily driver. I am quite impressed with the stock supercare tires on my z06 and would also highly recommend these as an overall performance tire in 295/35/18, which will fit right on the stock rims. I myself have had michelin pilot sports and althought they are a great all around tire i think their dry weather straigt line acceleration is wanting. I give the nod to the supercar tires if everday driver and kds if dry weather only.

:iagree: This is a good choice. I did this very thing a few years ago using the Supercar ZO-6 tires on my factory 99 wheels. I had no problems other than much better driveability and traction over my run-craps. Ran them on a roadcourse as well and ate up Vettes still on run-craps. Big improvement.
