I've been checking out Lingenfelter, MTI and Cartek. If anyone knows any other ones worth checking out let me know. Lingenfelter is mad $ and so is MTI for there 427 so I think I might go with Cartek because they are reasonalbe and they are close to what I want. I would like to run 9's but without twin turbos or nitros I don't know how to get there. No nitros for this C5 and can't afford twin turbos. IF I went with the Cartek package that puts you in the 10's I wonder if you could get there with a supercharger? :steering:
Re: Which performance tuners to pick? (MikeJamesC5)
You could run nines if you went with C5R heads , but they are expensive , when you get to the 9-second level it gets very expensive , you may be able to run nines with a Cartek 427 and the new AFR heads and FAST intake , but there not out yet. Call Dave at Cartek at 908-317-4496 .
Re: Which performance tuners to pick? (MikeJamesC5)
You may want to try The Vette Doctors and if you are looking for a super charger give East Coast Super Charging a try as well.
Good Luck
That is a tall order you may want to look in to C5R heads.
Re: Which performance tuners to pick? (MikeJamesC5)
Honestly.. Cartek is no Cheaper then any other tuner.. for the 422/427, all the tuners are close
You say LPE is too expensive. Well for the times you looking to run and now your talking about fast intake and C5R heads.. That would easily put you in a Twin Turbo + package..
Or even a supercharger.. would be a good thought..
Re: Which performance tuners to pick? (MikeJamesC5)
If you are looking for 9's on a budget, don't look for 9's. Right now there is no cheap way to get them and even if you can get the power to do it, you are going to have to upgrade other parts of your car to handle 9's. I would wait for Rob Raymer's C5 TT kit to come out. The kit will be capable of 9's on a built stock cubed engine so that will save you the cost of a stroker crank and sleeved block. Things are about to get interesting for C5 FI.
