Re: Battery tender plus leave battery in car??? (Vettenut99)
I've got an 02 Z06 with the AGM battery and I haven't had any problems leaving the battery in the car. If there's an issue, I'd sure like someone to explain what it could be. I do not use it to charge the battery I use it to keep it charged up and running the electronics during winter storage, or anytime I'm not ging to be driving it for more than say threee weeks. (Try not to let that happen very ofter!!)
I've also used it on my 79 L82 with no problems. Of course that is a regular HD battery (not AGM).

I am about to connect my battery tender too, but wanted to use the adapter that you plug in the power outlet inside the car. Has anyone used the adapter instead of connecting the tender directly to the battery?
Re: Battery tender plus leave battery in car??? (carpe dm)
My car gets put away for about 6 moths every year, I have used the battery tender with the battery in my car every year, never a problem.
Re: Battery tender plus leave battery in car??? (Racer44)
I hook mine up on a regular basis since I don't drive the car that much and the AGM doesn't like to be discharged. If I know I won't be driving the car for more then a week, the Battery Tender goes on to keep the battery topped off. No problems here.
Re: Battery tender plus leave battery in car??? (01Pewter)
If you leave the battery in the car and remove the wires from the car to the battery then the car is isolated from the house and any lightning that could hit the house. I had a lightning spike that took out a TV, microwave in the house and a welder in the garage.
