After the ridiculously restricted stock C5 airbox (non-Z06); would it be safe to say that the MAF is the "chokepoint" of the intake tract? (more restrictive than the TB)
If so, what is the best mod for the MAF? "Ported ends" or an aftermarket MAF, ala "Granatelli"? The ported ends for less than $100 seem like a good buy. . . if they really produce a gain. . .
What are the RWHP, RWTQ gains to be had with a "ported" MAF?
Good question, I have been looking into it myself, however I am building a very high-end stroker and I am told that the stock MAF will flow more than enough, we have tried the Gran after market maf's and others and found that the stock unit with ends and no screen with tuning works out best, there is less flexing in the alum stock unit and more consistent readings, I would save my money and put some good ends on your unit without the screens, you may need to tune with ls1 edit etc.
