Default Memory Package upgrade?

Can you (has anyone) installed the memory package into a car that didn't come with Memory from the factory?

I didn't think I needed it, but think it would come in handy now.

I would think I could just buy the switch panel and have a GM tech program the BCM or PCM or whatever to function with it.

And possibly have to buy two new transmitters.

Thank you for any and all help.

I'm interested in this as well. This would be a neat upgrade to my FRC.

I saw it in Ecker's but if I were you, I wouldn't do it. My memory is all wacked out - the seats move to some strange position now no matter how hard I try to program the 3 settings. I've heard others with similar problems.

Smash

Try this!! Move your seat to its full back position and press the Program buttons to memorize this position for all three settings. Then pull your key and see if it stays there!
If it does, re-program the settings to your normal driving settings and then see if it goes back to the regular entry setting. (all the way back)

If it is still messed up, I would set it to the full back position and disconnect the battery for a few minutes. That will reset EVERYTHING!

:iagree:

And.....make sure you door is closed before you put the key in the ignition.

Many times I catch myself closing the door, after I stuck the key in the ignition.

Hope this helps.

Good tip. :yesnod: My memory won't hold the outside mirror positions. Maybe this tip will work on the mirrors as well. :chevy
