PORSCHE ROTORS
Say 'hello' to Mr. Casella for me if you talk to him soon.
I've been running either stock pads or Hawk HP+. Am actually happier with the stocks than the Hawks. Less dusting and better wear. Am thinking of trying ceramics for the street, CarbotechXP9/8 pads for track. Any suggestions?
Pocono East: 50.08, 55 degrees & cloudy
Pocono North: 58.85, same conditions as above
Lime Rock: 1:01.5, 139 mph end of main straight according to HUD, 32 degrees, passenger on board.
Private message me on an issue I'd rather discuss off the boards.
Hope to see you in the Spring.

But has the best brake combo for our cars, period... that is i would like something lighter :-) Cant wait for a real test of the titan brake combo
44 pounds less rotating weight is a huge reduction, but as someone pointed out, less mass, poor heat transfer should not make a good brake, well lets see a real test of these ....... L.A.P.d. are you listening :-)
As for the Movit, if you shoot me an email, i will get you in touch with them
Price for a complte front end set is aprox. 2400 Euro + shipping
I am running the stock Z06 caliper on the STOPFORCE/Porsche 993TT rotors. This is not as effective an arrangement as the full Mov'it Porsche/Brembo setup which I have on my Camaro because the caliper flexes more, it floats instead of being fixed, the pad is narrower and, ergo, the swept area is too. However, it is a significant improvement over stock.
For those who are looking to contact Mov'it, I suspect you have to contact Guido Frenzenmeyer directly, because, as I understand it, The Ultimate Garage (Steve D'Gerolamo) no longer is the U.S. distributor for the system.
BTW, I do not understand the propensity for some to compromise on brakes, most especially on the track. I view brakes as a primary safety system and if you explode a $25 NAPA or $50 GM rotor, or the pedal hits the floor from caliper flex, pad taper or boiled fluid on the track, the money saved on inexpensive brakes/rotors won't be recovered in 3 lifetimes. Not to mention the potential unsought opportunity to 'See God', or, more mundanely, launder your soiled shorts. I've badly cracked both sets of stock front rotors I've had and I'm typically quite gentle on brakes.
I know acomplished drivers like Mr. Shiels are hitting upwards of 150 mph on tracks like Watkins Glen and Summit Point at which point slowing down becomes, uh, ....., important. During the One Lap my slower-than-a-Z06 Camaro hit 160 mph at Road Atlanta and MIS before having to brake into 50mph corners. The faster cars were seeing near 180mph.
This is not a rant. I'm a fan of this forum and everyone who posts on it. I simply want all who share our motorsports passion to be safe and mishap free.

John: I had Wilwood 4-piston Superlites originally on the Camaro, but kept having problems, e.g., soft pedal, vibration through the steering wheel, pad taper, etc. When I found myself entertaining increasingly bizarre theories about what the problem was, I finally gave up and replaced the Wilwoods with the Mov'its.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I got the StopForce because my Camaro experience made me a big fan of Porsche rotors. At the time, because of the Ultimate Garage situation and the likelihood that getting a Mov'it Porsche/Brembo system did not appear expeditious, I opted for the StopForce solution. I have been very pleased with the result.
If $$ were no object, and time was plentiful, I'd opt for the Mov'it. Once I'd bolted it on - literally - to my Camaro, I stopped thinking about brakes, because problems simply ceased.
Another advantage, at least over the Wilwoods, was that I could use the stock steering knuckles, whereas the Wilwood setup required grinding off the stock attach point as the bracket bolted to the back of the hub. That meant if I returned to stock, I had to get new steering knuckles which lightened the old wallet some $400.
I can't comment on the newer, more robust Wilwood 6-piston systems. They may work much better than the old 'Superlites'. And even with all the Superlite's problems, they were significantly better than the stock f-body brakes, although I certainly wouldn't make that assertion versus the stock Z06 brakes.
In short, I think the StopForce alternative works well. But if you've got the spare cash want the very best, opt for the Mov'it setup.
