Anyone using a Hawker Battery?
Thanks, Dave
I have a plan in the backburner to get one and move the battery to the back to improve the weight balance and to reduce total vehicle weight, but the weight of the heavy gauge wires might offset the weight reduction since the stock battery is already AGM type. The model I'm talking about is Genesis G16EP.
I put one in my Harley about a year ago and it has been flawless, plus it cannot leak and it weighs half of what a regular battery weighs which is really great on a bike. (Think of the expense of titanium exhaust to save 20 lbs.)
Model that I think is right is the PC1200MJT ($145 at Batterymart.com). Dimensions are 7 13/16" Length, 6 9/16" Width, 7 9/16" Height. Please let me know if this fits in the c5. (Don't have one yet but will verysoon.)
I understand that ferrari's use them but cannot confirm this, so maybe it is good enough for a c5.
Specs on the battery are awesome. They simply don't discharge, either. My bike sat up for 4 months while I was out of the country and it cranked up like I had just been out for a long ride.
Race bikes use them because they don't have alternators and they discharge at a very even, slow rate while running the track. Military uses them cause they are unaffected by vibration.
Sorry for the long reply. Would appreciate knowing the maximum size in the battery compartment for the c5 because mine will have the largest I can put in there. thanks.
