Hi all,
So that's what that annoying tick, tick, tick sound is in the morning startup, huh. I thought there might be a problem with my engine, but the noise does go away after warmup. Will it help to put in a thicker oil in the engine? I use 5-30 now. Does this problem contribute to a low idle sometimes? My car drops to 500 or lower at times when I come to a stop. I put it in Neutral(Auto) and the RPM's go up to 800-ish. I think it's gonna stall out. Thanks

Aluminum block Honda Civics sound like a cement mixer full of rocks when cold but quieten down when warm and last forever.
I have a 92 accord with 183,000 miles on it. The thing can wake up the dead on a cold start. You can hear everything banging around in there.. As soon as it warms up, its almost silent. My 99 FRC is not near as loud during warm up.
