I just had a cam and long headers, and a Blackwing installed. Now ! m having problems with the check engine light coming on.Any clues what this may be? :chevy :chevy :flag :chevy :chevy
Check code, I bet you have the P0300 miss fire code due to the cam installation. Proper tuning should help eliminate it, however mine appears every now and then (2K mi). I do not reset it and after a few restarts it resets itself.
Hold option button while pushing reset button four times to get codes!
DTC P0748 Pressure Control Solenoid Circuit Electrical
Circuit Description
The Pressure Control Solenoid Valve (PC Sol. Valve) is an electronic device that regulates transmission line pressure based on the current flow through it's coil winding. The magnetic field produced by the coil moves the solenoid's internal valve which varies pressure to the pressure regulator valve. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) controls the PC Sol. Valve by applying a varying amount of amperage to the solenoid. The applied amperage can vary from 0.1 to 1.1 amps. Low amperage (0.1 amp) indicates high line pressure. High amperage (1.1 amps) indicates low line pressure. The duty cycle of the PC Sol. Valve is expressed as a percentage of energized ON time. Zero percent indicates zero ON time (non-energized) or no current flow. Approximately 60% at idle indicates maximum ON time (energized) or high current flow. The PCM determines the appropriate line pressure for a given load by comparing the Throttle Position (TP) voltage, the engine speed and other inputs.
When the PCM detects a continuous open or short to ground in the PC Sol. Valve circuit or the PC Sol. Valve, then DTC P0748 sets. DTC P0748 is a type D DTC.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The system voltage is 8-16 volts.
The engine is running.
The PC Sol. Duty Cycle reaches its high limit (approximately 95%) or low limit (approximately 0%).
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
The PCM does not illuminate the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL).
The PC Sol. Valve is OFF.
The PCM freezes shift adapts from being updated.
DTC P0748 stores in PCM history.
Does this mean I need to replace the Pressure Control Solenoid Valve? Is this the solenoid on the transmission? Thank you for the info.Rod :chevy :chevy :flag :chevy :chevy
Go to this web address and it tells you how to reset and what all the codes mean. I put a set of headers on mine and got the light, knocked off a oxygen hose. Clearing procedures worked and no more lights. Do a search on engine warning light and you will find the thread I used. http://97vette.com/howto/codes/index.html
Vet 72 man,I did a search, but I couldn't come up with the Engine warning light that pertains to the exhaust system.can you assist me in locating the procedure? Thanks :chevy :chevy :flag :chevy :chevy
Had the same problem after my head/cam install on 00 Coupe. Installer said it was a false code coming from some air/emissions sensor. He used his soft ware and laptop to disable the code and it hasn't shown since. That was about 18 mos ago and there have been no check engines or any problems since then.

Thanks,thePO748 code is gone, but I am still throwing the other codes. It only did it once today.Maybe it will stop. The tuner told me he turned the rear sensors off,but the light came on again.Maybe we got yhe problem cured.I will keep my fingers crossed. :chevy :chevy :flag :chevy :chevy
