I recently installed the HUD option in my car and had to have the correct mileage reprogrammed. Seems the mileage is stored in the cluster.
I found a good place in Dallas to do it called Car Craft.
I drove in at 4:30 pm I took the cluster out in the parking lot. Took about ~20min. It took them ~20 min, $45, and a notorized letter about the mileage to reprogram, ~30 min to reinstall back in car and I was back on the road around 6pm.
Next time I will mail in the cluster, but I was told the car will not run with the cluster out of the car...
Good to know. I've read that the mileage is stored with one of the computers and you had to take the car to your "dealer" if you replaced the speedometer. Now I see there are others who can do the "magic" and get the mileage readout corrected.
