Forum memver CrazyC5Cowboy is the only one I know of, and he can't drive his car without shutting off the traction control since the front tires are too tall. There is not a short enough 20" tire to work on the front of a C5 without causing problems of this nature.
20s look great in the back, but look too big in the front fenders IMO.
If you use a 255-30-20 (26.2" tall ,stock is 25.7" tall ) should work without any problems.
This is correct, but you will be limited to the Pilot Sport A/S tires with the 285/30/20 rear.
Continental also makes this size, but they don't make a suitable rear tire. They make the 305/25/20 which fits the rear..but that is 1/4" shorter in height than the 255's on the front...an even worse scenario than running the same size all around.
I believe these are the only 2 mfr's of the 255/30 tire size but I could stand to be corrected.
Nitto NT55 also makes a 225-35zr20 that is 26.2" tall and they also offer a 275-30zr20 that is 26.6" tall and it will fit up to an 11" wheel. The 285-30zr20 Yokhama AVS Sport that every one runs is 26.8" tall.
I am not understanding why you think it would slow the car down. I have never seen pictures of a C5 with 20's in the front so i don't know what they look like. Thats why I asked for pictures to see if 20's look good in the front. To each his own huh? Kaley

There really is no benefit when going taller, other that esthetic reasons. Personaly i think it overkill. I seen lots of 19" in the front and it looks good, but the ride becomes harsh due to the shorter wall of the tire, plus they rub all over the place, you loose much of your turn radius. Not to metion the extra weight your puttin on the car. I woudl imagine it woudl make the car feel very slugish. remeber this is rotaional inertia you are dealing with, so it much different than throwing a 100lbs in the trunk

Monster231, Where are you getting this from? I have 19's up front, the ride is smoother and quieter than my factory wheels with EMTs, they have never rubbed in over 20,000 miles, the turning radius is exactly the same as factory, the wheels and tires are lighter than my factory wheels and tires, and the car does not feel any different in regards to acceleration (no sluggishness experienced what-so-ever). The only thing you mentioned that has any validity at all was your first sentence. Lastly, your spelling is atrocious.
2C5only21, I think 20's upfront would look bad butt IMO. If they fit, and it sounds like they do, go with them on all four corners
I hoppy fer you and yer 19's, howefer we are talkin abowt 20's. one you combyne the hite of the rim and the tyre, it is a signifikant differens. Troo comming frum rumflats to 19's and non runflats you are saffing lots wate, but than again run flats are old nues. Use the searsh buton. 20's doo rubb, therefour yoo luse terning radyas, becauz you cant tern yer steeering weel all the way. The ride is rouffer, especkially on, not so smooth surfases, doo to the shortter wall hite. and ther is a big wate increes as wel, again wee r not talkin about stok, his 20 will way weigh more than your 19. even if its a coulpa pownd, it make a differens caws its a the weels.
wat wuz the odder ting you menshond.
BTW you speeled atrocious wrong, you should use spell check
Let me know if yuo kneed help

I will take the chill pill or three, thanks for handing them out. I was not trying to flame you and I did read the entire post to realize that the topic was talking about 20's and not 19's. But in your post, if you read it again, you will notice that you mention 19's not 20's. Lastly, I did not spell atrocious wrong.

I think I am just gonna go w/ 19's on the front. I don't want to cause any problems w/ the traction control. I saw a picture w/ 20's on the front and didn't theink they looked to bad. kaley
