i was running my car very hard, and had a hard time getting it into 3rd.when i turn off the car,the clutch pedal was to the floor, without me pressing it to the floor.i raised the pedal up with my shoes and pump the clutch a few times n it was ok.went back to driving fast same thing happened again.the dealer said they have never seen this before.a friend said that it was a common problem with pre 02 c5 but it was fixed in 02,by gm.i have a 03/zo6 with 600rwhp.can someone tell me if there is a fix,or do i have to upgrade the clutch??
I have this happen in my '01 at least once during a day at the road track. I can pick the pedal up with my toe, come to the pits and let it cool down. Then it's fine again.
I think I've seen something about an aluminum shift gate or some part to theat effect in the tranny that the dealers are replacing with steel ones to correct it. Too bad, maybe you can get it fixed by Friday!! Good luck with any warranty work on this part unless you know someone there after they see what you have.
Re: help!!!!help!!!!!clutch problem. (blown in n.c.)
The clutch sticking to the floor was a problem w/ '01Z's and maybe some '02s. From what I know it was caused by improper torquing at the factory. This would cause the assembly to wobble some and over time damage the seals on the slave cylinder. Eventually air would get into the system and the slave would fail and not bring the clutch back up. The fix was to replace w/ a new '02+ full assembly. Also you could try bleeding and flushing your clutch's hydraulic system and replacing w/ dot 4 stuff.
As for the tranny sometimes the aluminum shift forks can bend, the replacement is w/ steel ones which are stock equipment on the viper t-56. Good luck trying to get warranty work w/ 600 rwhp car!
