Default Normal fuel pressure

Installing a fuel pressure gauge this weekend...

What is typical pressure I should be looking for across the rpm band??

On another note, if I am coming up short, is it easier (cheaper) to add an in-line boost-a-pump or go the full route and replace the stock pump with a high flow replacement ($400)

I can't give you all the readings you're likely to encounter but my '01 service manual says the fuel pump should provide a maximum reading of 55-62 PSI. Even with the engine off for several hours or more you can expect to find pressures in the 5-10 PSI range so expect some gas to come out when you tap into the system with your new gauge. Good luck with the mod. :chevy

I'm guessing you'll see 59 at idle. Once you stomp it, it'll fade down to 55-56 by 6000rpms.
