You should only need 92-93 octane unleaded gas in the car. May want to go back to that to see if you get the codes again.

:iagree: No Av-gas is unleaded, so as stated above, you're trashing your cats and O2 sensors. Quit doing it now, and fess up to the 'rents, so they can get they damage fixed. If you ever get to a no-cat state of modification, still don't do it, as the characteristics of AV-gas are all wrong for auto use. As everyone seems to agree, unless you're getting Knock Retard with prem unleaded (91-94 Oct, depending on your area), there is no reason to go higher.

Exactly.

If you do want to increase your octane (something I've done on California's 91) find a source of ***unleaded*** high octane fuel and blend in enough to raise the level to something suitable.

For instance, 100 octane *unleaded* fuel is available out of the pump at a station or two around here. 4 gallons of the 100, blended with a fillup of 91 will yield just over 93 octane, which is all the stock engine can make use of.

Even of that, I find it only seems to make a difference for me on the hottest weather.

AV-Gas is a no-no.

You're young, you'll make mistakes. But use your head and consider the implications before latching onto to some action that will do more harm than good.

Better yet, ASK here first!!!

And leave the dam cats alone. They are there so "precious youngsters" like yourself have clean air to breathe. Something you'll appreciate more when you have a 16-year old son putting av-gas in a corvette someday.

The higher the octane rating the slower the fuel (gasoline) burns.
That is a popular misconception. There is no correlation between the octane rating and how fast the fuel burns. Some of the fastest burning fuel also has the highest octane rating.
