I have been reading some recent comments indicating that Red Line causes seal swelling and ends up making it difficult to shift. Has anyone experienced this or other unusual problems after changing the OEM fluid?
Source? Not something I like to hear since I just changed to Redline! So far, however, it has made a positive impact on how my M6 shifts. :yesnod:
Interesting, but the post by c54dan means nothing to me since he already had tranny issues before switching to Redline. Still interested to see if anyone else posts up with Redline issues. Thanks for posting this jojog. :)

I switched to Redline D4 ATF in my MN6 about 6 months ago with no adverse effects. In fact, the shifter action has become smoother with my B&M Ripper shifter. Just make sure you use the *D4* Redline ATF, which is Dexron III approved.
I switched my diff. to redline about 50k miles ago and no adverse effects that I know of. of course, my rear axle seal and o-ring are leaking now but that's par for the course with c5's.
I am not going to knock Redline products because I have never used them but I will tell you I have read allot of threads on comparisons between Redline,Amsoil and Mobile 1 Synthetic ATF. What I have gathered from all the crosstalk is Redline is not certified. Chevy recommends Mobile 1 in my engine and is certifed SAE or whatever so I can't see taking any unnessisary risks with my baby I paid a ton of money for and continue to poor more into mods so I would go for protecting my investment. I have noticed considerable shift improvement since I changed to Mobile 1 ATF so I'm happy and I feel good about having it in the car and will soon change the rear end fluid to Mobile Synthetic so I'll run it exclusively throughout the car. Should have my Hurst shifter installed tomarrow and look forward to even better shifting. Just my 2 cents! :yesnod:
Improved results here using Redline brand in my MN6 and diff fluid. Smoother shifts since making the change from OE fluids about 10k miles ago.
30k total on the clock now.
I had the Redline in my Z06 (M12) for about 2500 miles. Pulled it out to go to Mobile one and sent the Redline to get checked out. To my surprise the report stated heavy insoluables in the oil. They recommended changing the fluid out and asked if the tranny had been hot (it had not).
In defense of the Redline the tranny might have still been breaking in as the Redline went in at 1500 miles. Of course the factory fill only had 1500 on it and the report never mentioned that the original oil was spent so the jury is out on that one.
Mobile one shifts as well or better, is recommended by Tremec, and quieted the "marbles" sound a bit. My vote is to use the Mobile one first and see what you think.
I have about 8,000 on my Redline - I have noticed no adverse conditions. Do any of these comments make you other Redline users consider changing to the Mobil fluid? Thanks -

I have been using both the Transmission and Differential fluid for years and have never had a problem.
