After I change my remote oil filter and drain the oil cooler, the engine runs for several seconds on startup with the low oil pressure warning on. This can't be real good for the bearings. Is there a fuse I can pull that will kill the ignition and fuel injection and let me spin the engine with the starter until the oil lines are full? I could pull the spark plugs, but there must be an easier way. :chevy
Re: Startup procedure after oil change? (redrodxp)
Maybe not the theoretically best way, but why drain the oil cooler? Admittedly it'll hold about a quart of old oil in the system, but I imagine you change your oil rather frequently, anyway.

Thanks to all - Filter is mounted horizontally, and I load it with oil until it runs down my arm. In the future, I will not watch the dic when I start up after an oil change. Just worrying too much about the best ride ever. :seeya
