Default Please Help! What does the Code C1288H mean on the IPC

Hey guys, I've been getting a "Service Vehicle Soon" on my display. When I checked the codes it displayed C1288H, I searched the net, but was unable to identify the problem, any ideas of what this means? I know it has to do with the traction control. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Any chance you had your car parked outside during a recent overnight frost, and then got the code when first starting it up in the morning?

The code indicates a difference in the two phases of your steering wheel position sensor

Anyway, I got that code last week after my car was in the cold all night while I was working. I cleared it once the car warmed up with the DIC buttons and all was  again. My guess is that the steering wheel sensor was literally frozen when I first started to drive home. hasn't happened since.

C5 Rider

This code is for the Steering Sensor Circuit Malfunction. It means that your MAGNASTEER2 is disabled because the computer detected a fault with your steering wheel position sensor.

I would clear the code and see if it comes back. If it does we can go from there!
If that sensor is bad, I here that it's a SOB to fix it! Hope you still have a warrenty.

Default Thank you, Bill Curlee

I had my steering sensor worked on a couple of months ago, and I already spent over $400.00. I guess they did not fix the problem back then. I will be taking it back to the dealership, and hopefully they won't charge me. Thanks again for your quick response, it is guys like you that makes me feel that this forum is one big family.
