I had an interesting thing happen tonight. I started my car turned on the radio and all my station presets were gone. I had to reset all the station presets. Never disconnected the battery or had a battery problem. Just strange. And so far after driving here and there tonight, its working fine. Somewhat unusual.
I don't know, but I would guess that some how the current to your radio was cut off. did any of your other accessories have a mal function? How old is the battery? It may be getting weak, and over night its losing its charge. You may have an intermitent short to the hot wire(which I would suspect).Being an expert on nothing I have an opion on everything. :chevy :chevy :flag :chevy :chevy
Well, a few days down the road and no problems........yet. Probably just glitched at start up. I'll have to keep an Eye on this one. Just plain weird though....the battery had not run down, plenty of power to start the car. So why lose the memory? Chalk it up to another C-5 Glitch
Thats a very strange problem but I don't think it would be related to the battery, even if you disconnect the battery the only thing you'll lose on the radio is the time all your presets will stay.
I had that happen in my 2000 a few times...It wasnt the battery....Just happened twice in the first few months it was new...then never again  I had the car checked out both times..and both times the service tech was stumped. My guess it was the radio itself and not any power loss to the system.
This is going to sound strange, but I had this happen on another car and tracked it down to police cars using their radio within 50 feet of my car.
More by accident I happen to be working on it and had all the stations set for weeks, when a friend came by in his police cruiser, he used his radio and left. When I started the car, within a few minutes of him leaving, the presets were gone.
Shortly after that we had a neighborhood incident that brought a ton of police into the neighborhood, and the presets were gone agian. Coincidence.... I don't think so :skep:
