Help-service active handling
If I restart the vehicle the message goes away, but returns after two to three miles.
Is this event connected to anything I did yesterday....or purely coincidence.
Any help on diagnosing will be appreciated.........thanks
Use search for the procedure.
Also, do you have steele brake lines?
Post the answers and we may be able to advise.
TCS C1286H
C1287H
AC-SCM B2605H...and B2607H
BO-RFA U1096H...U1064H...U1016H
What do all those numbers mean, and surely they arn't all related to the Service active handling message....are they ?
Does this mean i have more problems.....any help appreciated thanks
C1286 (with RPO JL4) - Steering Laterial Accelerometer Malfunction
C1287 - (with) Steering Sensor Rate Malfunction
B2605 - Seat Vertical Position Sensor
B2607 - Seat Horizontial Sensor
U1096 - IPC Loss of Commication Error
U1064 - BCM Loss of Comm
U1016 - PCM Loss of Comm
So, B and U codes seem irrelivant. Could be from disconnecting the battery.
C codes refer to active handling.
You'll need a Scan Tool to test.
1286 bottomline: Replace Yaw Rate Sensor or Replace Lateral Accelerometer or Electronic Brake Control Module or Steering Wheel Position Sensor if Sensor then Accelerometer then EBCM tests OK.
1287: Replace Steering Wheel Position Sensor else EBCM is sensor test OK.
My guess would be the steering position wheel sensor. Inspect make sure is is tight, not broken and clean.
Steering column work and since you requested the code info you may not have a scan tool; kind of lenghty repair and expensive parts.....so off to the dealer?
Where is the steering whell position sensor located, and is it easy to replace ?
I have plenty experience in car mechanics, but with nothing as sophisticated as the vette.
Some one suggested to check the brake fluid......what's that about ?
Again any input appreciated.
If the worst happens, and I need a 'Stealer'...anyone know of any good dealers in the Rio Grande valley
