Headed out to the nearest local track today for their Sunday test and tune. I usually would not be able to do this, since I usually work Sun. mornings but our company is shut down for the holidays. I get to the track and see a few cars out there, the weather is pretty good at just under 70. Line up for the first run and launch and the car just spins. Wound up with a 9.16 @88 with a 2.37 60ft. Not looking like it is going to be a good day. Line up for the next run, launch and feather the throttle to get a better launch and manage to stay hooked up. Unfortunately I red lighted the start, but ran a 7.93 @91.89 with a 1.98 60ft losing to a Z06 that runs a 7.83. Things are looking better. Blow the launch on the next run and run another 9 @86, running against a Mustang that probably caught a foot of air on the launch. Then I run another 7.93 and decide to give the car a little rest.
Line up for some more runs about 1/2 an hour later. Not many cars now so I hot lap the next 3. Run 7.74 @92, 7.69 @92 with 1.88 and 1.85 60fts. That is more like it. The best run was the last of the trio running a 7.67 @92 with a 1.83 60ft. Now I never thought I would achieve these numbers running on Runflats. What really bothers me is that this 1/8 mile time matches my best run of the year on ET Streets(on a colder night). . I am trying to decide what type of tires to use next season and todays results don't make it any easier. Hell I could almost bracket race with those last three runs. Anyway just thought I would share my results. By the way, who said Runflats were bad for drag racing... :D
