Oil Filter

I went to the dealer to get a few PF44s and was told that the new part number was a PF46. It sort of looks the same. Does anyone know why the part number change and if I am being spoofed.

Car is on jacks (discovered I didn't have a filter after I drained the oil and pulled the filter) dumb me.

That is correct. If you do a search there are several threaads on it.

I thought they were gonna call it UPF44. I was looking in the archives and that was the number that came up. With out getting into a discussion as to which filter is the best. Has anybody realized how dinky this filter is compared to the one used on the C4? It looks close to the size of the one that is on my lawn mower. I can now see why it is important to get the most efficent one possible.
