What do you guys who do some road couse track use for alignment figures? I did a search of the archives and could not find anything. Thanks in advance. BTW, I would only be doing a couple events a year.

I assume you are asking about the C5 and not the Porsche. Any small increase in the front and rear camber will provide increased grip in the turns and a more responsive turn-in. If you are only doing two events a year, I would keep the front camber at about -1.0 dergrees and the rear at about -0.75 degrees. Everything else set at the stock factory settings.

Yeah, I had the 993 corner balanced and aligned with the maximum negative camber I could get since it never sees the street. Thanks for the input. I am new to the C5 and have no idea what the stock/preferred settings are.

I track my car at Road Atlanta and Lil Talledega about 5 times/year, the rest is around town stuff. On the recommendation of a pretty good shop I run -1.2 camber front and rear, 0.00 toe front, .01/.02 toe rear.

Hope this helps.

I run the stock allignment settings on the street and track. If it was just a track car, I would have it set just for that...

Just go a little more negative with the camber front and rear (-1.0, -0.75 for non-Z06) and you will get better handling and tire wear on the track, without any real downturn in tire wear off the track. If you go more negative, the overall wear will suffer.

The stock suspension doesn't allow for much negative camber adjustment. If yours is a "track only" car, then GM sells alternate length upper and lower a-arms that allow for more static camber and a more radical camber curve with bump; more compatible with a racing alignment.

For a stock suspension, this works pretty well:

Lower 1" front and back. Use roller skate wheels on your front skid plates.
Front: 29 PSI cold. 1.25 degrees negative camber. 7 degrees caster. 1/16 toe out.
Rear: 33 PSI cold. 0.75 degrees negative camber. 1/16 toe in.

Most of the "track only" racers use a T1 suspension kit, Penskie shocks, 315x35x17 front, 335x17 rears, poly or solid bushings. Alignment is in the range of:

Front: Camber neg 2.25-2.75 degrees. Caster 7-8 degrees. Toe out 1/8".
Rear: Camber neg 1.25-1.75 degrees. Toe in 0-1/16.

Happy racing! sj
