Gonna need some new rubber fairly soon. Stock Goodyears still good on front....basically gone in rear  ....just can't figure that out
Anyway....anybody have Pilot Sports with over 20K on them? Are they going to outlast the Goodyears? Are they still quiet?
I drive mine daily and make quite a few trips so I don't want to stray from runflats, even though I know other tires are cheaper and better.
I realize this is somewhat like all the exhaust, radar detector questions....but I hate to throw $1200 away on the wrong tires.
Thanks
Bruce
I can't help you as far how long they last. I just put on a set a few months ago. Dumped the Goodyears at 20k, and went with the Michelins. They are an absolute dream. They are soooo nice and quiet. Best of all, I have a stretch of really bad road that I have to travel a couple of times a week. On the Goodyears, the car road walked and was very rough. I used to grit my teeth everytime i went over it. With the Michelins, the road doesn't even feel the same. Car holds the road beautifully and it's even much quieter. Hope this advice is worth $1200.
I got my Piolit Sports A/S at Costco. Mounting was 35 for all 4 tires. However, I recomend you make sure Costco has the "special" machine and NEVER NEVER NEVER let them lift your car. Put it up on jacks and take the tire and rims to them. Onle last point. What everything very carefully. Since the rims are not directional so long as the tires are on in opposit directions you're OK. In my case they got them switched so I had to put the right on the left and vice versa in the rear. No big deal and not worth remounting two tires. Runflats are tough to mount.
I have 11,000 mi on my Pilots. Great daily tires, excellant handling, great ride at 32 psi. I did not measure the tread depth but I say they are about 50% used up. I drive my car hard. Some weekends I slip on the BFG's (DR) in the rear......the traction is so much better. I can actually floor it in first gear from a roll at 2500 rpm with out the tires breaking loose. The pilots will just spin all the way through first when I do this.
