Have a 99 MN6 with stock motor. Going with the 410's as my first major mod . Will I need DR's to get any traction? I like use this car as a daily driver and also want to run at the strip once in a while. What differance in driving can I expect. Any advice? Warnings?
I've also got a '99 with 6 speed and had the 4.10's installed last fall. The shifts come quicker and 6th gear is now used on e-way driving (approx 2100 rpm at 75 mph). Makes the car much more fun and definitely quicker off the line.
May be a bit much at the strip as you may have an extra shift. Mine is just driven around town and I love it.
It's a good gear for an engine with less than 450 hp but may be a bit hard to hook up if over 450 hp.

I asked the same question a few weeks back and the response was overwhleming in favor of 4.10's. Besides significantly increasing acceleration, this gear set makes 6th gear of some use. Look at http://temp.corvetteforum.net/c5/pat...atio_table.jpg for a table of rpms... OOps. that was the M6 vs m12 table... here is the calculater... but you will need the first table to know the gear ratio in each gear http://www.quiknet.com/~ke6vut/rpmcalc.html

Re: 410's (HOUSTONVETTE1)
Do it for sure as its the best single bolt on mod for M6s!!! YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!! If your traction limited after the install throw on some BFG (kds) not to be confused with kdws, as they are a great sticky dry weather (non-drag radial) every day tire!!!!! :smash: :steering: :chevy
