Default Borla exhaust

I had posted a topic about a week ago asking which exhuast would be better for my vette, the PRT's or the Borla stingers. I had told everyone that I was going with the PRT's, but decided at the last minute to get the 4 tip stinger.
This was due to the fact that NATE AT CORVETTE GARAGE gave me a great deal on them. Thanks Nate!

Do you get any droaning (resonance) at cruising speed (60-70mph in 6th) with the Borlas?

:lurk: I'm interested to hear this too as I'm thinking of purchasing the same system.

I'm considering buying the Borla Stinger system as well, but am concerned abuot the resonance issue as well. ndirishr1, do you have an x pipe? Any resonance issues at all? $679 seems to be a pretty good price for a Borla cat back system. I might have to call Nate and order a set if I can get all my concerns taken care of. Any other feedback would be appreciated.

vetdude, I have a vert with the stinger quad tip and no x-pipe. at 1500 - 1700 I do get some drone but its not bad enough to cause a problem with conversation, but you will have to speak louder. as you would expect, its much less noticeable with the top down. to keep the navigator happy, I did insulate the trunk area. :steering: :auto:

Borla catbacks and Magna Flow X-pipe here. I also added a partition which helped greatly. Yes, there is resonance, but I'm fine with it.

Cruises, what did you insulate the trunk area with? I'm new to doing any kind of mods to cars so the info would help. Thanks.

Also, will a catback exhaust system void my GMPP extended warranty? Don't want to do anything that might give the dealer any reason to hassle me.

To my understanding, unless the dealer wants to give you replacement parts for 'free', they can't void your warranty for using after market parts. However, if the part you buy is the direct result of the damage (ex Some Air filter with a 2 inch hole in it, which fills your cylinders with dirt), then they don't have to honor the warranty for that specific break down.

I'm not a lawyer, do don't take my word as law. :D Also, I'm sure warranty laws vary greatly state to state.

i got a set of borlas quad tips, from halltech for 650. plus shipping. there nice but there loud inside. i also went with the magnaflow x pipe same time. i think the x made them a little quieter. you get more bang for the buck with the air box. i went with the trap. getting the screen for the plate next. like to use the screen and the license plate at the same time.

It's called the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Your statement is basically correct. I might add that if the dealer states that the cause of the problem is the aftermarket component, they also have to prove such at their expense in order to void the warranty.

I have used it successfully a couple of times.

Thanks Oyea and roadkill for the input. I'll definitely keep that info in mind if I ever encounte a situation where the dealer disputes any mods I might make. Looks like I'm going with the Borla Stingers!

The Borlas are a great exhaust  I have a MN6 and at hghway speeds in 6th gear they are no louder than the stock exhaust.

However, if you get on them at lower speeds/RPM's/gears, they WILL sound like a vette should....loud and angry
