Last week I saw a thread on here about Eagle Stroker kits for $1995. I remember reading that you could swap rods and pistons for a nominal fee if you so wished...?
I've searched high and low and I can't find this thread. I even searched in the archives (I doubt it's already been archived - but wanted to be sure!).
I just can't find who was selling this kits at a great price? Can anyone steer me in the right direction?
Re: Am I losing my mind? Eagle stroker kits? Cheap? (boblackhardtop)
The old adage still hold true, "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR."
All we ever do is bit$h about how high Corvette part prices are. Now that someone is going to give us a product thats less expensive, what do we do.... bit$h about it. Give me a break. Eagle makes quality components.

Eagle rods and cranks are top quality. If Iwere building a Top Fuel dragster with unlimited budget, I might opt for the big buck parts.
I'll build a motor with Eagle components and put all the boost I can make to it with confidence. You are not going to break one of their rods or cranks, period.
It's the same as Diamond pistons. They're a little cheaper but they are a quality product. Case in point. I had a Stage 1 motor with diamond pistons, stock rods and 12 PSI boost. The customer got into a race up to 160 MPH on the freeway. It was pinging badly all the way. (The guy who tuned it told him the noise wasn't pinging  ) Anyway, 5 rods were bent and none of the pistons were hurt. Can you imagine how much force it takes to actually BEND the connecting rods? Those are some tough pistons.
I just ordered 5 of the cranks. I have no qualms about using them.

You'll need a good set of heads and a cam if you're going to go to all the trouble of building a short block. The 42# injectors may be maxed if you add inches and good heads and cam. 57 Seimens may be in order.
A Racetronix pump and a Boost A Pump should be fine.
Good headers are a must.
ARP studs instead of bolts should also be used.
I should have everything you need.

I can probably get the work done very inexpensively. I already have a Z06 cam. If the pistons and rods are forged, I should be good up to 12psi, right?
Is adding a different set of heads necessary? If I can run 12 psi, even with stock cu. inches I should be pushing 600rwhp (assuming forged pistons, rods and 12psi). I only take the car to the track occassionally (2 times this past year). Otherwise, it's a back and forth to golf car!
My goal is 700 hp because I anticipate transforming the Coupe into a Tigershark!

Nicely Said. I myself went with Diamond Pistons & will go for the Eagle Stroker Package. I don't see the need to spend the extra $2k for a Lunati kit when I can get the same quality @ a better price ?? Use the extra cash for something else. :seeya
