Has anybody else have their mn6 balky when its cold. Mine is balky from 1 to 2 shift and 2 to 3 shift but only when cold. When the trans warms up it shifts ok. Bought the car used so I don't know if the trans fluid was ever changed. If it was it wasn't under warranty I do know that.

Common problem during cold weather. I believe that is one reason GM went with an ATF fluid in the 6 spd. The cost of ATF is also cheaper than the "old" transmission fluids. Me, I use GM Synchromesh. I could start a war here, or maybe all that can be said....has been said.
Thanks for the reply. Figured its the lubricant as well. What I'm doing now is warming it up till I see 120 on the temp with clutch out in Neutral. Figure you want the trans to warm a bit. Its balky but once its been driven for 30 mins or so it becomes ok. I'm going to have the fluid changed soon to GM red line. I'll Give it a try and see what happens. My coupe goes in next month for heavy engine mods....cam, heads, exhaust etc. So I'll service the trans before I start that stuff. I had a 88 Tbird TC with a 5 speed and I had the reverse problem with that... when it warmed up it got balky to shift. I added a bottle of Slick 50 manual trans friction modifier to the fluid and the problem went away.
Same thing is happening to me, fluid was only changed 5000 miles or so ago. It's freakin' cold recently, so I figured it must be temperature. I seem to remember the same thing happening last winter.
