I hopped in my car last evening turned the key to start, got a half second of cranking and then all heck broke loose. The door locks started buzzing, CD popped out of player, interior and dash lights flickered, plus a variety of buzzing and clicking noises from under the hood and interior fuse box area. Eventually everything electrical died except for a constant clicking from the BCM which stopped if the battery was disconnected. The car could not be jump started. Whoa there, I need to use this car tonight! I checked all fuses and those connections at the BCM and the drivers door boot. All OK. Bottom line, I went out and bought an Optima red top dropped it in and everything works fine. The GM AGM battery was less than 3 years old, and gave no indication of immanent failure. The car is driven every day. I've never had a battery fail so suddenly or so spectacularly!

I wonder if any company has ever worked as hard as Delco has to squeeze the last penny out of a battery.
:mad
When my HUD defaulted, I guessed it was the battery going bad. I changed to a Redtop and no more Hud default. That was in December. Since then, quite a few 2001's have had electrical problems that turned out to be original battery. :auto:

They die with NO waring. Mine died while dropping my wife at the airport. I stopped the car, opened the hatch to remover her bag it would not start. Dead with no warning.
The weakest lik in the Corvette has been the useless Delco AGM battery.
make sure you use big thick jumper cables, ones that can carry some juice. i tried to jump my dead battery and the first set of jumpers were small diameter and could not transmit the current, they just heat-up and the car does not reieve enough juice to crank-over...then i used larger diameter cables and jumped just fine...but when they are dead they are real dead.
