Default Tire pressure sensors

I just installed a set of 19" CCW wheels that I bought from Nate at the Corvettegarage.com (both of which I highly recommend), and they have a set of tire pressure sensors installed. I realized that I was going to have to "relearn" the new sensors per the shop manual, but I ran out of time tonight and went for a drive, fully expecting to see some kind of error code related to replacement sensors that hadn't been reprogrammed. Nothing. In fact, the tire pressure selection showed pressures both front and rear (though I suspect that they aren't reading the new wheel/tires). (I know, I could take 10 pounds of pressure out of one tire and see what happens on the display, but I just didn't have time today.)So, the question is: is the car's computer still reading a memory of the last reading on the removed sensors? I really assume so, but I also really thought that when the original sensors went away, the pressure sensor system would have at least noticed that.

Yes. The computer only flags an error when so much time has elapsed without an update from the sensor(s). This should usually happen within an hour...but some people have gone for days with no error messages.

Hey im not sure on your problem, But I do know these tire sensors are a pain in the neck!!! I already had to have one replaced under warranty because it was trying to tell me in was running on my run flat, when I really had pressure. Besides for that they are always jumping up and down and telling my I have low pressure. Especially in the cold. :cuss

I've swapped tire sets multiple times, and yes, your computer will remember the last pressure recorded from the sensors that came off. I went for days before I got an error message.

Now, I have my CCW's, and my right front sensor is much slower at registering than the rest of the wheels  I bought a new sensor, but I'm in no hurry to break down the wheel/tire and risk damage.

Congrats on the great wheels
