Just bought a 99 coupe to replace my 86 and in reading the owners manual it says to change the oil refer to the shop manual for proper procedure. What is different in a oil change that I should Know about. :steering:

Rear of the car is suppose to be a little higher (3 inches maybe) than the front.
Let the oil drain for like 10 minutes.

Not a lot other than the drain plug faces forward so it helps to get the back end, at least, level with the front so you can drain most of the used oil.

If you get it all drained add 6.5 quarts and check to see if it's full after you driven it up to temperature. Wait about an hour and check the level. I usually just put 7quarts in a as a bit of overfill doesn't seem to bother it.

To reset the oil life computer turn the ignition to on but do not start the car. Depress the gas pedal, fully, 3 times and it should reset to 100%. Honestly!

Also be gentle when you put the drainplug back in. The threads on the aluminum pan only need to see about 25 ft lbs of torque.

OOPS! Should be 18 ft lbs, or 25Nm. :)
