Well, last Thursday was the first time I ran my car at the 1/4 mile track down in Bradenton. I was a little dissapointed with the times, but I only got two runs in (btw, anyone know of decent helmets that arent too expensive?). I'm sure with some practice I can get the times lower but anyways, here they are --
1st run - 2.4 60' 13.6 @ 106
2nd run - 2.6 60' 14.4 @ 105 (Left the dang TC on!! DOH!! :banghead: )
This is on the stock run craps and tire pressures left as is (30psi cold/34 hot)
I defintely cant wait to run it again - for those of you that havent done it, its an absolute blast!
Re: Ran at the track for the first time (Automag928)
Congrats on your first runs, and becoming another track junkie :hurray: .
I also went for the first time last year and our first run results were very similar.
Like myself you need to get your 60' down to 2.0 this will greatly improve your times. The standard figure for an easy conversion is that for every .1 that you reduce your 60', it will equal .15(Appox.) at the finish. I have run a best of 13.22@109.2MPH. I am on a quest to hit 12's before any mods. Good luck and keep it on the track. :D ... :flag

Welcome to the addiction of drag racing Jay!!
A4 or MN6? I expect to see you at the corvette challenge series of races this year! http://www.flacorvettechallenge.com We have our banquet this weekend so probably won't be there, but get back out & practice! We only ran 13.98 bone stock.
At Bradenton they have the new LED lights on the tree so a .000 is a perfect tree.
Feb 14th is the first race...9AM! Be there, we give free instructions on bracket racing!! Any inexpensive helmet from a motorcycle shop will do.

Its an MN6. My R/Ts were .39X and .4XX something...That was a change for me... I thought I had red lighted my first run, my brain was still working off of the .500 tree. I'm going to try and go more often...Like I said before it was a total blast!

Welcome to drag racing.
Yes practice will make you better. Drag Radials will also help you with hooking properly and consistently. It should be everyones first mod for the track :)
